Kateryna has been a fact-checker at the Demagog Association since July 2019. She is responsible for verifying and analyzing information, monitoring Russian disinformation, and translating content into Russian and Ukrainian. She is also a mentor in the Fact-checking Academy, where she conducts workshops for primary and secondary school students as well as university audiences.

She is an expert in Russian propaganda and disinformation. She is the laureate of the sixth edition of the nationwide Medi@stery competition for the best master’s thesis in media studies and the author of numerous academic publications on Russian disinformation and information warfare, including the book “Problematyka walki informacyjnej w relacjach Rosji z wybranymi państwami europejskimi. Perspektywa medioznawcza.”

Alongside her editorial work, she is a PhD candidate at the Doctoral School of Social Sciences at the Jagiellonian University, where she researches the characteristics of Russian information warfare in Poland. She participated in the international project “Kremlin Watchers,” focused on monitoring and analyzing Russian disinformation in Poland, and takes part in expert panels. She also collaborates with organizations working on countering and analyzing medical and anti-refugee disinformation in Central and Eastern Europe as part of the SCIENCE+ project.
